On sign-up we ask which causes matter most to you (climate, poverty, education, animal welfare, disaster relief, civic engagement — 13 cause buckets in total) and where in the world you want your gift to land (any of the seven UN regions, or Global).

That's it. We don't ask for your income, your address (beyond what Stripe needs for the paywall), or any profile signal that isn't directly used by the match algorithm.

Our matcher (built on Anthropic's Claude Sonnet) reads your cause + region selections and ranks the catalogue. Every match earns a transparent percentage score — and the math behind it is fully visible: cause overlap (0-65 pts), region fit (0-15), IRS verification (0-10), transparency rating (0-5), and the AI's relative ranking (0-5). No hand-wavy "100% match" — every number is reproducible and auditable.

Each Nonprofit/NGO in our catalogue clears three independent checks before it appears in search results:

• IRS Business Master File cross-check via ProPublica's Nonprofit Explorer — we confirm the EIN exists, resolve the canonical legal name, and timestamp the verification. Re-checked on every deploy.
• Candid (GuideStar) directory profile linked for every U.S. 501(c)(3) — the donor can open it in one click.
• Charity Navigator rating linked for the ~80% of our catalogue that Charity Navigator actually rates.

Non-U.S. Nonprofits/NGO's are verified via their home-country public charity registry (UK Charity Commission, Irish Charities Regulator, Indian MCA, Australian ACNC, etc.). Every claim on our cards is citable.

When you choose a Nonprofit/NGO on GIVE→ALIGN, you complete the donation via a direct-to-charity Stripe checkout on our platform. Every listed Nonprofit/NGO has its own dedicated Stripe merchant account, so your card charge settles directly into that Nonprofit/NGO’s own connected Stripe account — GIVE→ALIGN is never in the payment path. The Nonprofit/NGO is the merchant of record and issues you the receipt directly. 100% of your donation reaches the charity on transaction day — there’s no platform skim because GIVE→ALIGN takes zero platform fee on the donation itself.

We support the platform through a one-time $8.99 access fee (paid via Stripe) so we can stay independent. No subscription, no upselling, no data resale.

After you donate, log the amount in your dashboard. We compile a year-end Personal Giving Log — a clean PDF you can hand to your tax preparer or save for your records. This is not an IRS Form; that comes from the charity. It's your own bookkeeping made effortless.
